WHO WE ARE

TEAM MEMBERS.

Our mission is to inform and empower citizens to take action against the irresponsible disposal of nuclear waste. We hold central the rights of the river, plants, birds, and animals to live in an uncontaminated zone-- free from the risk of spills, accidents, human error resulting from exposure to hazardous chemicals, and other unnecessary risks.  We believe that future generations including human communities will benefit from the protection of Kichi Sibi from the irresponsibility and unwelcome presence of the nuclear industry.  Join us in making a difference for our environment and for future generations.

Stop Nuclear Waste is a community movement dedicated to protecting the Kichi Sibi River and its wildlife from the dangers of a proposed Near Surface Disposal Facility. We are a group of Indigenous leaders, local community members, and allies who research issues related to nuclear waste from technical and political perspectives, who work to hold the government and nuclear industry accountable for the waste they create.
